Unplanned Sort in Bank Register

While editing some monthly split entries in my bank register when I went back to the full register I'm only seeing those monthy entries and nothing else. I thought perhaps I hit a key I shouldn't have. There was a search box there, but it said all transactions etc. There was a reset button. I tried that but no luck. I tried closing the file and re-opening but that just took me back to where I was. What have I done? Or what has Quicken done? Thanks for any help.
