    Hello @Jim McCardle

Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. I do apologize for the issue you're having. When it comes to deleting older data generally the easiest way would be to create a year end copy or delete the accounts themselves. Both are options available. With the Year end copy it will create a copy of your current file as an archive so it'll still be accessible if you do ever need the information provided. It will remove any reconciled transactions with the updated file. For more information I'll leave an article down below on how to do so.|

If you have any questions please let us know and we'll see what we can find.

    Thanks,

Perform a "year-end copy" During that process you can specify whether you want to just keep this year's transactions,s This year and last year or however many years you want to keep. I always opt for this year and the preceding year but that is just my preference. You can decide when you perform "year-end copy." Follow the instructions in its link.

FWIW, most SuperUsers don't recommend deleting old data since it's not easy to put your data back together again. Also, it will not make Quicken any faster. Most SU's have more than 30 years of data.
