how do you open a new account in quicken in order to transfer a portfoio to them from vanguard

    Do you currently have those securities recorded in Q?  Or, is this the 1st time they've been recorded there?
    And, the securities will STILL be held at Vanguard, you seem to simply want to download that account into Q.  Is that correct?
    If so, do TOOLS, Account List, click ADD Account in the lower right corner and type Vanguard in the box at the top of the window.  From there, just follow directions.
