How to merge accounts?

I have named the same account two different names. I would like to combine.

  1) take a backup (just in case)

  2) select ALL of the transactions in one account

  3) drag those selected transactions to the other account.

  Is the account a banking account (checking, credit card, cash) or an investment account? The drag-and-drop works for banking accounts but not for investment accounts.
