    I received an error code that I have to manually uninstall a previous version before I can install the new one I just purchased. During the attempt to install the new version it looks like my icon for the old one has disappeared....I don't know how to find the old program to uninstall it and I am worried that I have lost all of my old data.

    The Quicken program and the Quicken file are distinct and should be maintained separately.  Our financial data is maintained in the Quicken file.
