Could you clarify what you want to accomplish by "memorizing" a transaction? The QuickFill rules in modern Quicken Mac are actually a bit more flexible than the old Quicken 2007 QuickFill Transactions list.

If you want to take an existing transaction and create a QuickFill rule for it, you can simply click on the transaction and select Transactions > Save QuickFill Rule, or use the shortcut Command-Y. This will pop up the QuickFill rule window, where you can keep or blank out fields you want to be built into the rule (such as Category, Tags, Memo, and Splits); you can also keep the bottom checkbox checked to lock the rule so future transactions with different values won't change the rule, or uncheck it to allow the rule to change as new values are recorded in the future.

You can also manually create QuickFill rules, and edit existing ones, by going to Window > Payees & Rules and clicking on the QuickFill Rules tab.

@pratibha doshi  There is a preference setting for whether you want Quicken to automatically create QuickFill rules as you create transactions. If you have this preference turned on, then the next time you enter a transaction for a Payee, it will auto-fill with either the category or all data (your choice in the preference setting).

Meanwhile, if you have a Payee for which you don't have an existing QuickFill rule, click on a transaction for that Payee and select Transactions > Save QuickFill Rule, or use the shortcut Command-Y to quickly create one. It will be used the next time you enter a transaction for that Payee.
