Accepting downloaded transactions...drives me CRAZY!

Question

When accepting downloaded credit card transactions into the register, I often sort by payee and categorize one by one.  So, for example, I like having all transactions from Target together.  What drives me crazy is after accepting a transaction, the transaction selector skips randomly to another part of my transactions list.  I wish it would go in order so I could categorize all Target transactions in order without skipping to a McDonald's transaction (for example) after accepting a Target transaction.

Does this behavior make any sense from a user interface perspective?  Anyone else bugged by this?
