Subscription Renewal

Options
I'm using Quicken Premier and my subscription expires 9/10/2021. I purchased a 1 year subscription from Amazon and applied the key on 8/14/2021. My new subscription expiration now shows 9/10/2022. Why wasn't I credited for the days between 8/15/2021 and 9/10/2021? Shouldn't the new expirations be 10/05/2021? According to what I have read in your forum, the extra days should have been added to the expiration. I chatted with Quicken Support and they said it was a new subscription. It was certainly a new key but NOT a new subscription. I've been using Quicken for over 35 years and have had a subscription for the past 2 1/5. What gives here? I purchased from Amazon because there was a 10% discount. Not very happy.

Sorry, I don’t see the problem.  Your subscription was extended for the year you purchased (from 9/10/21 to 9/10/22.  Why would the new expiration be 10/5/22?  Until 9/10/21 you are still using the old subscription.

And the opposite, why wouldn't you only get a year from when you applied it on 8/14 to 8/14/2022?

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

@volvogirl, the new subscription gets added onto the end of the current one which expires on 9/10/21

Using your thought process, your new subscription would have started on 8/14/2021 and gone to 8/14/2022 and then adding your unused time of the existing subscription would add to 9/10/2022.

As explained by bmciance, your current subscription would have ended on 9/10/2021 and it has been moved out a year to 9/10/2022, no one has cheated you out of any of your subscription.

HUH - your subscription ends 9/10/21 - and you bought a year extension - which would bring it to 9/10/22 -
Doesn't matter when you physically apply the extension - it just adds to the existing one ....
The year just gets added to the previous expiration date - just like any other subscription service or magazine...

I guess I just misinterpreted how the renewal process works. Thanks for setting me straight.
