Why do security transactions 5+ years old not affect shares?

I have been trying to get to the bottom of why the number of shares in one of my securities is way low. I have discovered that the 2 oldest transactions (shares added and shares bought) are more than five years old, and are not counted in the share balance.

    I suggest you view the account's holdings and adjust the As of: date to determine when and, then, why the shares are not counted by examining the register on that date: open the account register and select Holdings

    It may help if you check the Show hidden transactions preference: select Edit > Preferences...

    Try this.  Click EDIT, Preferences, Investment Transactions and check "Show Hidden Transactions".
    Are there now and transactions with an N/A in the account?

    Well, I did that, and it pinpointed what I needed to fix. (Nothing was marked "n/a.") The issue was that it had no per-share price. Thank you, NotACPA. (My net worth in Quicken just went up about $4000 as a result!)
