I have Quicken on my Desktop and have put a lot of time in setting it up. I want to know if there is a way to copy the Quicken on my desktop to my surface pro?

Assuming you have a current Quicken Subscription, you can log into Quicken.com, download a copy of Quicken and install it on your Surface Pro.

If you want to work on the same data file on the other computer, you can back up your current data file, transfer it to the Surface Pro, and restore the backup there. Most if not all of the settings will transfer along with the data file.

You would reverse the process to transfer the file back to your desktop system.

You should not store the working data file on a shared network drive, this can lead to data corruption. You can store backups on a shared drive.

You can't have two computers using the same data file at the same time.

If you will be moving a data file back and forth between computers frequently, it is best to close Quicken, move the QDF file to the other computer, then open Quicken on the other computer. Apparently backup/restore causes problems if you do it too many times.

I bought a newer version of Quicken for my Surface. But the data backup from my Mac won't transfer? Any ideas?

The Surface is Windows.  You installed the windows Quicken?   Quicken article on converting your data.  See Convert from Mac to Windows
