Unable to open data-files (Q Mac)

Quicken suddenly says I do not have permission to open my files , that my data-files are non-writable. Checked the files and they all have read-write permission.

Where exactly is your data file stored? Is it on your hard drive or a cloud storage service like Dropbox or iCloud. If it is in a location on your Desktop or within your Documents folder, do you have iCloud Drive set to not store those folders on iCloud? Have you copied your data file between different Macs?

Thanks. Actually found that in the System Prefernces permission for Quicken to access my Document folder had become unchecked. Hopefully that will permanently fix the problem.
