Manually Adding Unlisted Security Prices to Quicken

I recently opened up a 529 Account at Vanguard. I picked an unlisted Target Enrollment Portfolio Fund. I know how to manually download the fund prices and know how to manually enter them into Quicken. Is there any trick way to automate either or both processes?

Yes, you can memorize the investment transactions for an account and recall them to make as needed. You can also add the icon to the Tool bar.

Thank you for your response. What I hope for is a easy way to add daily fund prices for an unlisted fund.

Short of selecting a different fund that can be easily downloaded, the answer is no. You can try to load QIF files with price history, but that can produce its own challenges.
One other option is to import CSV security prices if Vanguard offers the file format.

Just because you selected an unlisted fund doesn't mean you shouldn't get the price.  Prices come from the third party quote service when they're listed but they also come in the downloaded information when you download transactions from vanguard.

I have not been able to find third party prices for these special funds created for the us state 529 programs. I want to fill in the gaps - since I'll be dollar cost averaging into this 2040/2041 fund only twice a month for the next 18 years (if I am lucky). I can go to Vanguard and easily see the fund prices. Then copy and paste from the screen into an excel spreadsheet. I planned on doing that once a month.

BTW- if you happen to remember me - I finally got the ability to have "Other Attachments" under documents when I started to use the subscription version. I never did find out why my older documents are not encrypted.

Concerning importing security prices by csv files. Can we still do that? I couldn't find that function. I can make my own csv file.

While I have not tried it, CSV import is available ...

Here is an article on the format of the CSV file for importing security prices just in case you need it.
