When I download a program update it says download failed.

I was able to update when I downloaded the file from quicken.com myself, but I couldn't update from within the program.

  Why not? What EXACTLY happened?  What error messages or codes did you receive?

  And, what file were you downloading? (What release?) Into what Q product?

  I suspect you're referring to update the Quicken program.  If so, I suggest you temporarily disable your antivirus and antimalware software when you update Quicken.
