Categories are grayed out

I cannot edit categories. They are all grayed out.How can I fix this?

    Please provide the version of Quicken being used: select Help > About Quicken

    Note: Your profile says you're using Quicken for Mac but you have posted your query to Quicken for Windows.

    I don't know how that happened. I am a forever Quicken for Mac user. 6.6.0 version subscription. How do I move this to the Mac help forum?

    I've never had any difficulty editing categories in Quicken for Windows.  There are a few easily recognizable built-in and transfer categories that we obviously are not allowed to edit but the reset are fair game.
