Migrate Old Brokerage Account to New Brokerage Account

I need to close my existing brokerage account with one bank and open a new one in another bank. I have hundred of individual stock transactions, purchases, stock dividends, etc all with different amounts and different dates in the old account. Is there a way to pass that data to the new account all at once instead of moving each transaction one by one? Thanks

Go to the old account and select the gear icon in the upper right, and then Move Transactions.

IF you're moving all open securities between the 2 accounts, I'd simply
- Take a backup
- Disconnect the OLD account from download
- Edit the account to remove the old brokerage name and account number
- Exit Q, Restart Q
- Re-activate the account with the new brokerage name and account.
You can, if you'd like, insert a $0 transaction to show the date of this activity. After all, if you're doing a move all, it's a single account to you. why clutter Q with 2 accounts?Q user since February, 1990. DOS Version 4

I like @NotACPA's approach better but would note that if one moves all the transactions from one account to another, then I would expect them to delete the old empty account.
In either case I would watch out for duplicate transactions when you first connect to the new financial institution.Signature:
