USAA Downloads as TXFR

My USAA credit card and checking account EFT transactions are coming in as TXFR's...which infers that there's a separate account that they are to be credited or debited from...which isn't the case.

This has been a bug that USAA introduced when it switched to its new security model a few years ago.  They are marking all transactions as transfers.

If you search this forum for "USAA TXFR" you will see that it has been mentioned quite a few times.

People should be complaining about this to USAA.

Quicken sent out an email on 12-13-22 stating that Quicken and USAA are putting the "finishing touches on a new connection" but did not specify what improvements are coming. Another notification will be sent out within 60 days to make the switch. We can only hope that they fix the problem.

That sounds like going from Direct Connect to Express Web Connect +.  All I can say about that is it will be different, whether it is better or not will remain to be seen.

Chris: I have looked at the access.oxf file received from USAA and USAA is designating the <TRNTYP> as XFER. Not much Quicken can do is the received data is wrong.

@allen_car, yes exactly.  On the other hand if they do go with Express Web Connect + that will be a completely different protocol called FDX between Intuit (Quicken Inc’s “aggregator”) and USAA so everything will change.
