editing budget

Is there a way to manage navigation tools for editing a budget? It is annoying to edit a category that begins with T, for example, then hit enter and have the screen return to the top. This is particularly bothersome when one is first creating a budget and fine tunes it alphabetically. Are there any preference settings for budget editing?
