Buy and Sell uses the cash in the account and sets the basis
Add/Remove ignores the cash in the account. To generate a basis, the add transaction has fields for entering the basis
Transfer is to move the shares to a different account and it does preserve the basis

There is a separate field for acquisition date (not time of day).
