Adding a new account with limited transactions

I am resetting my quicken file as the recent update messed things up, totally! When i add a new account, can I……
- not memorize the payees that get downloaded
- tell quicken to only download transactions for a specific time period; i.e. going back to Jan 1?

- Turn this option off: Edit → Preferences → Automatically memorize new payees.
- No, you can't. What is downloaded is up to the financial institution. You will have to prune out old transactions if you don't want them. Be sure to update the Opening balance with the correct date and amount if you do this.
