"Lock and leave this payee unchanged" is no longer honored

Hi folks,

Running R55.15 build 27.2.55.15 on Windows 11. I have tried the Validate and Repair + Super Validate and Repair processes prior to writing this.

Sometime within the last two updates or so, the "Lock and Leave" option for memorized payees is no longer being honored. Here is an example; Amazon.com, two different uncatagorized types, deposit (charges) and payment (refunds). You can see that both of these are locked.

Now, I take an example entry, and modify it (added a 1 to the order number):

And now a new entry has been added to the Memorized Payee List:

This is functionality which has worked great for about a decade but all of a sudden has completely stopped working. Any ideas?

Looks to me that you have "Automatically memorize new payees" which is not governed by the lock on an existing Memorized Payee.

    That was it! Thank you!

It's crazy to me that a change to an existing payee would be classified as a "new payee" but here we are…

If it was different in any way, such as an extra space, Quicken sees it as different. You have to remember, it is just a computer doing a mindless task.

Glad that solved it for you.
