Dillard’s is changing from American Express to Citibank this month

As most Dillard's store card users know Dillard’s card stopped connecting with Quicken some months ago with no explanation. I received a letter from Dillards a few days ago announcing they were switching from American Express to Citibank Mastercard. The letter also included new Citibank Mastercards to be used starting 9/16/2024.

Dare we Quicken users hope that connectivity will be restored?

Hope springs eternal … but you'd be better served if you asked Citi that question.

  • I just tried to setup the new Dillards Card. Same error as before. "Can't connect. Its not your fault."

Did the letter you received with your new card tell you what to do to access your new Mastercard account at Citi Bank, from your browser and, hopefully, from within Quicken?

Unless you've been told otherwise by Citi Bank, …
If you have successfully established access to your new account from a browser, you should be able to use the Add Account procedure in Quicken to connect to "Citibank", authorize access to your new card by Quicken and connect the account to a new account register in Quicken for transaction downloading.

If that doesn't work, call Citi Support.

This does not work (yet.). Trying to add a new account pulls up 384 different card options from Citi and none of them are linked to the correct website, so the attempt to create a new account fails. I'm guessing Quicken needs to add something on their end before we can do this. But we can hope…

Of the "384 different" choices, as you stated, does the one named "Citibank" not work for you when you try to perform a Tools / Add Account process in Quicken?
