TIAA no longer supports downloading?

Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

UNSUPPORTED_BID (112)

Account must be re-setup due to bad connection state, UKNOWN ANOMALOUS STATE.

It appears this account is at a bank that no longer supports downloading. You can resolve this by disconnecting to make this a manual account or set up the account at a new bank. (112)

I'm not sure what happened with TIAA or if it's me. I had my 403b, brokerage, and roth account. They were all direct connect, but 2 of the accounts have lost their financial institutions…weird. I did create a clean quicken file and tried to reimport all my TIAA portfolios, but now they are all "Quicken Connect" and most of them just like everything as cash? So confused.

Not just you, I got the same for my IRA and Roth IRA. Brokerage still works as it's a different 'institution.'

    Broken for me, too.

  • Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

Same. The brokerage accounts are working, but not retirement.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. Hopefully, a fix is in the mix.

Same issue. I really hope this gets fixed soon!!!

I ran a download this morning and got this message about my TIAA investment account "It appears this account is at a bank that no longer supports downloading. You can resolve this by disconnecting to make this a manual account or set up the account at a new bank. (112)". Yesterday it was fine. Is this a transitory problem, or is the message correct that they no longer support downloads?

    I received it as well

  • Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

Yep, same here for me on March 15, so if this is an outage and not permanent, its ongoing.

I see the same thing. A similar thing happened for Vanguard (and I think earlier T Rowe Price). [Removed - Speculation]

Very glad it's not just me. Patience, patience.

FWIW, TIAA was reporting system activitiy this weekend (3/15-3/16) which may impact connectivity.

  • Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

What I see is that “Quicken Connect” makes a connection to TIAA, but only “Simple Investment Tracking” is available, not “Detailed Investment Tracking”. The “Direct Connect” approach reports an OFX error. “Simple” tracking requires extra steps of downloading transactions from TIAA to perform the equivalent of “detailed” tracking. While there might be a “proper channel” to report issues, nobody else gets to hear the issue. That’s why reporting here in a user forum is important.

    Really a problem!!

Tried to reestablish the connection and I get the same results (ain't it great when there's more than one of us? 😎)

I don't think the simple vs. detailed record keeping is relevant here; that's about the tracking of cost basis, tax lots and associated capital gains data in the account register. The Direct Connect vs. Quicken Connect might be part of it; that's about getting stuff directly from the institution as opposed to aggregating information in the Quicken cloud (although my setup doesn't allow me to select Direct Connect). Also, It appears that we are all Mac folks here. Me wonders if the Windows people are having the same problem?

In any event, Quicken Kristina appears to have the problem in her hot little hands and should be passing it along to the powers that be. Now, I will go back to my cave and await results.

Me too. Started Friday. Not a good look for TIAA or Quicken, especially when the market is in such a volatile state.

A similar thing recently happened with Vanguard making some internal changes, and it took a few weeks to resolve.

I think Quicken could be causing unnecessary panic though an error message that implies permanent change. "It appears this account is at a bank that no longer supports downloading. You can resolve this by disconnecting to make this a manual account or set up the account at a new bank."

That kind of message should only appear after there is confirmation that the institution has permanently discontinued the features.

    Hello All,

Our teams initially recommended connecting to Everbank Consumer, however, they have now determined that connection does not work for TIAA customers.

We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your patience while we work on this issue!

Everbank is not accepting my TIAA credentials.

@Quicken Kristina, Your second screen shot seems like the wrong screen shot.

    Hello @zzz.pane,

Thanks for letting us know! To clarify, did you mean Everbank? I can see that you're getting the FDP-103 (invalid credentials) error in your Quicken. Are you able to login directly through the financial institution website?

    Thank you!

@Quicken Kristina yes, I meant Everbank, sorry. I can log into the TIAA website, and direct connect was working with those credentials until the current incident started.

  • Member ✭✭✭

I don't believe any of us have credentials to Everybank. Even attempting to sign up for a new online account, my account types do not show on the form nor do I even know my account number. As others, I can still log into TIAA's website.

To clarify, I never had a TIAA Bank account. My affected account is an investment account. TIAA retained its investment business; they sold only their bank to Everbank. @Quicken Kristina
