Can I use Quicken Classic for Business and Personal on BOTH my PC and Mac
Hi. I've been a Quicken Windows user for years. I currently run Quick Classic for Business and Personal on my Windows PC. I just bought a Mac. I'd like to use it on both. Can I connect to the same data file?
Thanks,
Adam

No. While you can convert the file between platforms, it is exactly that-a conversion. Both programs use a totally different file format.
You will want to use one platform and stick with it.

Hello @aeiseman,
Thank you for coming to the Community with this question. As @John_in_NC said, it is best to keep your data file on one platform and stick with it.
That said, it is possible to do some sharing by using Quicken on the Web. Quicken on the Web is a companion app, and will not have all the functionality of the desktop version. For more information on Quicken on the Web, see this FAQ:
I hope this helps!

Howdy, Kristina: are you now saying you can use the Mobile components to "bridge" between the two platforms?
In the past, this wasn't possible as the mobile components were tied to the data file on their respective platform. That is, you couldn't have data entered on Mobile be accessible on different files on both Windows and Mac. Has this changed?

Thank you for your reply @John_in_NC,
If I'm understanding your question correctly, no, Quicken on the Web does not allow you to update two Quicken files on two different operating systems. Each Quicken file has it's own cloud account and cannot share that account with other Quicken files.
What Quicken on the Web can do is allow you to view and update information you synced to the Quicken Cloud from any device, by logging into Quicken on the Web through a web browser (like Chrome), and when you return to your main device, where the actual Quicken file is stored, it should be able to pull in those updates. Since Quicken on the Web does not support all of the features that are in the desktop version of Quicken, what you're able to view and update in Quicken on the Web is limited.
Thank you!
