Trouble with Wells Fargo downloads
I have a total of 7 Wells Fargo cash accounts including 3 checking and 4 savings/money market accounts plus 3 investment accounts. When I do an update, usually once a week, I then have to spend considerable time correcting transfers and deposits that are assigned to the wrong accounts. I have had this issue off and on for several years but recently it seems much worse. A recent transfer of funds from a brokerage account to a managed IRA account shows up in the IRA but also as a deposit to one of my checking accounts. Other times a transfer from a savings account will pass through one or two other accounts before ending up in the right place. Is anyone else having these issues?

When downloaded transactions are miscategorized or linked to incorrect accounts, especially with transfers, it's often due to duplicate or incorrect matching in Quicken's transaction matching engine. This can be worsened if multiple accounts have similar or identical transaction details.
A few questions to help narrow this down:
- Do the transactions appear correctly on the Wells Fargo website, and only get misassigned after downloading into Quicken?
- Have you set up any memorized payees or rules that might be misapplying categories or accounts?
- Are any of the accounts linked to Bill Pay or have Sync to Mobile/Web turned on?
