Intuit has stopped selling new QB Desktop subscriptions as of 9/30/24 and they are allowing existing subscribers to continue for an unknown period of time. Scary for small businesses! Personally, I've used Quicken home and biz forever for my own business and I favor it over QBD. You should develop a model that is Business & Rental only and MANY QBD businesses will flock to your easy to manage business bookkeeping product. The current Home and Business is quirky to set up for business use only. I don't know its so hard to set up that way; but, even with years of experience it is frustrating.

There is a BIG community of businesses that is super frustrated with QBD and they will flock to you if you create a product to accommodate them.

I think one of the main stumbling blocks for QBD user coming to Quicken would be the fact that there isn't any automatic way to convert.

Also, Q still depends upon Intuit for multiple services … so I'm not sure that Q would want to go into competition with QB/Intuit.
