I'm trying to re-add my mortgage with Fifth Third Bank, and am getting an error message

Error message: "Sorry, we encountered an error. (It's not your fault.)

Quicken is having a problem connecting to Fifth Third Bank.

I had to reconnect a bunch of accounts yesterday due to a CC-800 error (not sure why I got this error when I had not closed/deactivated account nor did a restore from backup). Can't get Fifth Third Bank account to set up One Step Update now. Everything had been working fine until yesterday, 6/10/2025. Did a search and couldn't find any open issues for Fifth Third Bank.

Anyone having a similar problem?

I've been using Quicken for decades. Several days ago, I restored my system from a full image backup taken earlier ithat day (no account changes in Quicken). Booted into windows, opened Quicken and ran OSU(one step update). All EWC(express web connect) and EWC+ accounts received cc-800 errors (4 accounts with 3 financial institutions). Five other institutions (10 accounts) using direct connect completed successfully. Account resets fixed the cc-800 errors. I restored from system images twice earlier this year with no subsequent OSU problems. It's been one problem after another with EWC and EWC+ since their inception.

    Hello @Debbieqknuser & @chaz24479,

Thanks for reaching out—sorry to hear you’re dealing with these ongoing download issues across multiple accounts. That definitely sounds frustrating.

As a first step, we suggest going through the instructions in our CC-800 support article. These steps often resolve the error in most cases.

That being said, this is a known issue that we’re currently tracking. While CC-800 errors are frequently tied to things like switching between Quicken data files or restoring backups, we recognize that this isn’t always the case. Our development team is actively working on improvements behind the scenes to reduce how often this error appears—and to make it less disruptive when it does.

We appreciate your patience as we continue working toward a long-term fix.
