Truist - persistent reconciling differences following outage earlier in the month
Hello,
Like others, I was having trouble connecting to my Truist accounts earlier in July. I am since able to connect, but ever since, I have experienced reconciling differences each time I download transactions. I.e. - on day 1 I will download and clear all transactions and there is a reconciling difference that I accept; on Day 2 I will download again, and there is a new reconciling difference that I have to accept. This has persisted for at least a week or two. I have data for this account dating back to 2011, and have never had this issue.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Hello @dmiller385 ,
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention!
To narrow down possible causes, please answer the following:
- Are the reconciling differences always the same amount or do they vary day to day?
Consistent differences could suggest a one-time offset, while varying ones may point to duplicate or missing transactions. - Have you noticed any duplicates, edits, or changes in previously reconciled transactions after a download?
- When you reconcile, are you doing it manually or using the automatic “online balance” option?
If you’re reconciling to the online balance, that amount might be temporarily off if Truist’s download feed is delayed or misaligned.
A few potential things to try:
- Try reconciling to a printed or downloaded statement instead of the online balance to see if the difference still appears.
- If it continues, you might consider restoring a backup and deactivating and reactivating the account to force a clean sync.

@dmiller385 to add to @Quicken Anja's three questions -
It could also be just a timing difference. Sometimes the Online Balance updates, but the actual transaction doesn't get posted until the next day. Or, the transaction posts but the Online Balance doesn't get updated until sometime later. If I have a difference, I just wait till the next day for the other piece to update. If you have a lot of transactions in the account, this delay can make it difficult to reconcile. If you don't do this already, it might help to determine what is happening by entering the transactions to the account register before they actually post.
