Merrill/Bank of America update

I reauthorized the Merrill/BoA accounts. First the checking, savings and none of the credit cards linked up to existing accounts. So I proceeded to download the new accounts thinking that I could move old transactions into the new accounts, but the bulk of transactions are transfers to other accounts. The transfers in the old accounts reference the old accounts so I can't move them to the new account without changing the transfer account names.

Is there a automated way to do this without editing every transaction?

    Hello @jelgolfnut,

    Hello @jelgolfnut,

Thanks for reaching out! Instead of moving transactions manually, I’d recommend trying the following approach:

    1. Deactivate the newly created accounts in Quicken.
    2. Make sure the original accounts are also deactivated.
    3. Then go to Tools > Add Account and reactivate the connection. When Quicken finds your Merrill/BoA accounts, it should give you the option to link them to the original accounts rather than creating new ones.

If that works, you can safely delete the duplicate “new” accounts.

If you’ve already moved transactions into the new accounts, you may need to restore a backup from before those new accounts were created, then try the steps above to ensure everything links cleanly.

Let us know how it goes!
