Quicken classic windows Vanguard balances incorrect [Edited]

Vanguard balances do not match Quicken balances. As an example, Quicken shows a money market account with $45000+ balance while the Vanguard money market balance is little more than $1100.

With 8 Vanguard brokerage accounts with multiple funds in each, I have no desire to continuously manually update share balances and prices.

I can download (to a test file) and values are correct.

Overall, the total Vanguard balance is off in Quicken by about 3%.

    Hello @nickfuhs,

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. Since you mentioned the balances download correctly in a test file, but are wrong in your main file, that indicates either there is incorrect information (wrong placeholders, duplicate/missing transactions, etc.) in your main file or there is a file-specific problem in your main file.

Have you checked your accounts to see if there is anything obvious throwing the balance off? If you're not seeing anything that's obviously incorrect, then I recommend that you start troubleshooting for file-specific issues by validating your data file.  Please save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

Please let me know how it goes!

It didn't . after update the validated account has different errors including incorrect holdings within each Vanguard account.

Time to look for different software

    Thank you for your reply,

If you wish to continue troubleshooting, the next step is to restore a backup from before the issue started and test to see if the issue is resolved in that newly restored backup.

    Thank you!
