Fidelity Conversion.

I tried again to see if the previous incorrect conversions had been connected when converting to the new Fidelity download process. Unfortunately, nothing has been corrected from my end. The investments in money market funds like FDRXX, FSIXX and FZDXX are still being converted to core cash. This is not right. If Fidelity treats these money market funds like any other investment (not core cash), the conversion should retain that treatment. Why this is not being followed is a mystery and no one seems to have an answer.

    @KJTemplin after reauthorizing your Fidelity accounts, were you presented with a dialog that asked whether you wanted to treat your Core account as Cash or Money Market funds? If so, how did you answer that question?

    @Jim_Harman I've never seen Quicken Mac ask that question for any account.

    @Jim_Harman,

    No I was not asked.

    Isn't this the same issue as when Schwab first moved to this connection method and core money market funds (like SWVXX) were changed to being treated as a cash rather than a security? Or did that ever change such that the money market fund is now shown as a holding?

    Good question. I don't have a Schwab account and can't answer the question. It would be interesting to compare the approach taken between Fidelity and Schwab.

    I updated my QWin program to the latest version (not sure the version number) which seemed to fix the Fidelity money market cash issues. Now core cash and money market investments are properly classified and consistent with how Fidelity treats them. I have not seen similar updates for QMac.

    I have been able to work around the problem by going back to a saved copy of my file from before the Fidelity conversion issue and then selecting "Remind me later" when updating and getting the message about Fidelity transitioning to a new connection method. It had worked fine for a couple of weeks until today. Today when I again selected "Remind me later" and it tried to update I got the error shown in the screenshot attachment. So as of today I can no longer update my Fidelity accounts using the old connection method and I'm not willing to risk using the new method. Hopefully will be fixed very soon.

    I did the same thing until today, and then I was forced to convert. I had fewer issues with QMac than with QWin, but in both instances, core cash is being treated as an investment holding in Fidelity Cash Reserves. I understand Quicken is working with Fidelity to resolve this issue.I would have never suspected such a conversion would cause this many issues. And why Quicken did not run it through user Beta testing is also a mystery.

    This Conversion is still screwed up. The correct $ amounts are not coming over from Fidelity. My total is off by $3,000,000. How can 2 large companies like Quicken and Fidelity not get this right? Makes me wonder what else can't they do right???
