Quicken Classic 8.3.1 won't perform local backup

Recently upgraded to 8.3.1 Now when I try to perform a backup, I get an error "The operation could not be completed. No other information is available about the problem"

When I quit I get the message "Unable to save a local backup of "xxxx.quicken" The backup file could not be created.

I even created a new user and did a clean install of 8.3.1 and got the same result.

backup folder is located at HD/Users/"Username"/Library/Application Support/Quicken/Backups

help, please.

Is your live data file in the default location as well (HD/Users/"Username"/Library/Application Support/Quicken/Documents) or somewhere else?

This will sound stupid, but have you restarted you computer? If not, try that and see if anything changes.

Do you get the same error if you open your Quicken data file and select File > Save a Backup?
