Phantom Brokerage Account Entry

Quicken Mac 8.3.1, Mac OS 15.6.1

In March 2025 a taxable Fidelity brokerage account that I track in Quicken switched from using "FDIC Bank Deposit Sweep" to cash. When I pull up a Portfolio view of the account dated March 31, 2025, there is a line item for "FDIC BANK DEPOSIT SQEEP NOT COVERED BY SIPC" with a value of $19.80. There is no item on the March 31, 2025, brokerage statement that matches this "holding." All other amounts in the portfolio view match the holdings on the brokerage statement.

When I click on the line item in the portfolio view, two transactions appear, one dated 3/11 for $11.89 and one dated 3/17 for $7.91. The $7.91 transaction appears on the brokerage statement and is properly recorded in Quicken; I don't know why it appears in the portfolio view. The $11.89 is nowhere to be found in Quicken. I've reconciled the account through February 2025 and there are no transactions missing or in that amount. It is a complete mystery.

I tried exporting the entire Quicken file to a QFX file and importing it to a new file in Quicken but that did not remove the phantom entry; it still appears in the portfolio view but not in any transaction.

We really need a repair utility like the one in the Windows version.

    Hello @Baldlegal,

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is odd that the phantom transaction was able to carry over when you exported and imported into a new file. Is it possible that the transaction is in a hidden account? Does the transaction show up in any reports, or is it viewable only when clicking the holding in the portfolio view?

I look forward to your reply!
