Fidelity Migration - Duplicating Investments and Placeholders Impacting Balances
On MAC Tahoe 26.0.1 Quicken Version 8.3.2 (Build 803.58902.100)
I am unable to complete the migration since the end result is the process duplicates all my investments when linking to an existing account. I can link to a new account (and permanently close the old) but this causes me issues with paycheck links. I would rather this work correctly. I use (and need to use) Detailed Transactions.
In addition all of a sudden I have been getting placeholder entries that are making my overall account balance high. In this instance a security will show twice in my portfolio with the 2nd one with a different name (IE with a 2 added at the end). If I delete those entries my balance will be correct. However they come right back at the next update. This started in the last 15 days or so.
Please advise & thank you

Hello @Frank DeMello,
Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue! Based on your description of the problem, I suspect that what is happening is that your holdings are being sent to Quicken just different enough that the program is showing them as new rather than recognizing you already have those holdings in your accounts (and then it adds the placeholders to account for these new holdings being added). If that is what is happening, then you should be able to resolve the issue by merging each of the duplicate holdings with the correct original holding. For information on merging securities, please see this help article:
I hope this helps!
