Tags for Investment transactions

It would be helpful to have tags easily available when entering investment transactions. I've found that one can add a Tag to an investment when Split of categories is available for a few of the transaction types. I'd like to see this option available for all of the pertinent transaction types and for entry to be easier than Splitting

It is already possible to do this, but it's not intuitive or easy. See Jim_Harman's post below.

    Thanks to @Rocket J Squirrel for the following from a post that has been archived:

    Any investment transaction which can be categorized can also be tagged, but it's not obvious or easy.You have to make the transaction a Misc income or expense, which opens up the Category field. Then use the slash character to append the Tag to the Category as "/tag".Long ago I made a suggestion that any transaction which allowed a Category field should also provide a Tag field. Seems logical and consistent, but has not been implemented.

    In the same way, you can also add Tags to cash transactions.

    Thank you for the information. I really appreciate your help. Though I've beena Quicken user since the 90s people like you are very helpful. I wish Quicken would review all of our suggestions and implement more of them. I think there are a number of user interface and data entry option ideas that would make use more efficient and provide the ability for more sophisticated use such as creating reports
