Ref Quicken Classic Business & Personal for Windows

IBM - Shares in Quicken = Shares at Broker but One Step Update says Broker has no IBM shares

VDIPX - No Shares in Quicken, = No Shares at Broker but One Step Update says broker has shares

    Hello @bw2,

Thank you for reaching out! To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. When did you first notice this issue? Which version of Quicken were you using when you first noticed the issue? Which financial institution are you seeing this happening with?

I look forward to your reply!

@bw2 This certainly sounds like a problem where the broker's IBM reported security (CUSIP = 459200101) is incorrectly matched to a Quicken security.

I suggest you look at the Security List in Quicken (Ctrl-y), click on the CUSIP header to sort securities by CUSIP, and see if what security is associated with CUSIP 459200101, and what CUSIPs are associated with the securities in your file for IBM and VDIPX. For any bad matches, edit the Security Details and uncheck the box for "Matched with online security".

After unchecking the boxes, from the account transaction list, you should be able to use the actions gear icon to Reconcile shares and then create the proper match. Or the next download from the brokerage would (should) also give you the chance to make the right match.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for responding. The CUSIP for IBM in the Quicken Security List is blank and grayed out so I am unable to edit. The CUSIP # for VDIPX is wrong but I am not able to edit that field.

The CUSIP # for VDIPX is wrong but I am not able to edit that field.

The user does not edit (fill in) the CUSIP values. Those get filled in from information sent by downloads from the brokerage. So for VDPIX, uncheck the box on its security details that it is Matched with an online security.

On the next download from the brokerage, you should get the opportunity to correct the match up. You could also before that download, go to the account transaction list, choose the Reconcile shares via the action gear icon, and get the same match-up option
