FIRST FREEDOM BANK TN-UNABLE TO CONNECT

I have been unable to connect to First Freedom Bank for over a month now. Quicken does not recognize First Freedom as a supported financial institution any longer, and no one at Quicken seems to know why. [Removed - Speculation]

They think it's temporary, but they don't know. One month later, I'm still manually entering my business transactions into Quicken as if I was using a paper register back in the '70's.

[Removed - Rant]

I've spent over 6 hours of my time speaking with quicken support and First Freedom Bank, hoping that someone at Quicken would eventually fix this.

After a month of this, I still don't have an eta as to when this issue will be fixed. I figured that I might as well post it here in the hopes that someone might have an answer. Calls, emails and every manner of support have been exhausted on my end.

[Removed - Rant] In the same timeframe, we also had connectivity outages with Amex, Chase and Citibank.

Yes, we've verified the problem is not with my program or computer. Yes, we've verified the problem is on Quicken's side of things. No, I don't feel like having to migrate all of my financial data into a competitor's financial accounting program, and having to learn a new system, or I would have switched already.

[Removed - Rant] If anyone has an update concerning this problem with First Freedom Bank in Tennessee, please post.

    Hello @slappyman33,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I understand how frustrating it can be to manually enter transactions for an extended period.

Regarding First Freedom Bank, this financial institution is not currently listed in Quicken’s supported FI list. If it was previously available, that means the bank has decided to no longer support online connectivity with Quicken.

For a bank to be added or continue supporting downloads in Quicken, the request must come directly from the financial institution and be submitted to our service providers. If you would like to see First Freedom Bank supported again, the best approach is to contact the bank and let them know you’d like to download your accounts into Quicken.

Thank you for providing your feedback!

The bank has been involved from the beginning. The first service ticket was submitted to Quicken by First Freedom Bank over a month ago. I've been able to download transactions from my bank with Quicken for over 20 years. Quicken has not fixed the issue, and has not provided any updates to First Freedom since the ticket was submitted. As I posted before, this is a quicken issue. Every time we have a problem with quicken connectivity with any of my accounts at any of the financial institutions I work with, Quicken always says that it's a problem on the financial institutions end. Every time, it turns out to be quicken's issue. Problems always seem to occur right after another quicken software update has been downloaded. In any event, the problem is still not fixed, the bank has requested Quicken fix the issue and we still haven't received a response after a month of crickets.

@slappyman33 Thanks for following up. I want to clarify and reiterate my previous message so there’s no misunderstanding:

    • First Freedom Bank is currently not listed in Quicken’s supported financial institutions. Banks are only removed from the list if they choose to no longer support downloads to Quicken.
    • Quicken can’t restore support for a bank that has removed itself from our supported list.
    • For support to be reinstated, the bank needs to submit a request to our service providers. If the bank has already done this, the process is handled externally between them and our service providers. Quicken doesn’t have the ability to bypass the standard process.

I understand how frustrating it is to manually enter transactions, and we appreciate your patience while the bank and service providers work through their process.

    Thank you!

In support of @slappyman33, the same thing has happened to me with the exact same timeline and results. When it first happened, I figured I would give it a day or two to resolve itself. Then I contacted the bank's customer support, who checked with their technology department, who said that they hadn't changed anything.

So, on one side, we have Quicken saying "not us" and on the other side is First Freedom saying "not us". The customer - that both Quicken and First Freedom are getting rich off - is caught in the middle and all I feel is disappointment.

Quicken can still not connect to First Freedom Bank in TN. Almost 2 months have passed since Quicken lost connectivity with First Freedom, and still no updates or eta as to when this will be fixed, or if anyone is even working on restoring the connection. My renewal date is tomorrow. It's time to say goodbye. This is some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
