Cannot update accounts - my computer died and when i restarted I could not update accounts

When my computer restarted, I logged into quicken classic and when I click update accounts then enter my passowrd. A pop up shows the following message

I cannot update accounts. A pop shows up that says "Please log in to quicken to complete this action. go to edit > preferences > Quicken id and cloud accounts > sign in as different user, then sign in with your quicken id and password when prompted.

I went to the quicken id and cloud accounts and updated my password, but when i click update accounts I still see the same pop up screen. I even went to a back up to see if anything would change and it still shows same screen after clicking update accounts.

I do not know what to do next…please help. Thank you!

    I think you misunderstood the prompt you got. You need to sign in with your current Quicken ID and PW, not update (i.e., change) your PW.

    Try signing in, again, with your current (not the new) PW.
