AMEX Connectivity Issues

Quicken Classic (Mac version) keeps losing connection with AMEX. It reports that it cannot connect to this account and then I have to reconnect. Sometimes reconnecting does not work. It's very frustrating. Quicken help made me do the usual logging in and out, disconnecting / reconnecting but the issue persists.

    Hello @Dom_K,

Thanks for sharing the details. After reviewing your account internally, it looks like you are encountering the FDP-401 error in Quicken for Mac. This error generally occurs when the bank’s website is temporarily unavailable for Quicken to download transactions—often due to high traffic or restrictions on automated access. Even if you can log in directly to the AMEX website, this can still prevent Quicken from connecting successfully.

Please review this support article for more info.

This is a known issue that has been escalated internally under CTP-14534, and a fix is currently in development. At this time, we don’t have an estimated resolution date, but the team is actively working on it.

Please refer to this Community Alert for any and all available updates.

We appreciate your patience while the fix is in progress.

    Thank you!

I am having the same issue connecting to AMEX to download transactions on my Windows desktop. Has this issue been resolved yet?

Is there any update on this? This keeps happening. I've had to disconnect and re-connect my Amex accounts multiple times. Last time, Quicken managed to not offer to match to existing accounts, so it made new duplicate accounts that I then had to delete and start the process over. This is wasting a lot of time!
