Capital One Bill Reminder continually resetting itself to 0.00 after updating the amount

For the past couple months my Capital One credit card amount in Bill and Income Reminders continually resets itself to 0.00 after I update it to indicate the current balance for my monthly payment. Very frustrating to have to go in and do this every time I open Quicken in order to have my 'remaining funds' reflect accurately. No other accounts seem to be doing this. I don't remember if it happens after every time I open and close Quicken, or if a day needs to elapse - will check that out today. Yesterday I put in the $$ amount for my upcoming payment, and today it showed as 0.00. Took screenshots today for documentation.

    Hello @cwinkler,

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I am happy to help.

I do have some follow-up questions for you if that's ok.

    • Where is your data file located?
    • Is your file being backed up/synced by any third-party services like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Carbonite?
    • Have you tried deleting this reminder and re-adding it?

Something we can try is validating your file.

    To do this:

    1. Go to File.
    2. Select Validate and Repair file… Validate and Repair 2.png
    3. Check the first box for Validate file.
    4. Click Ok.

Once that is done, check to see if it still resets to $0.00, and let me know how it goes.

Additionally, the screenshots you took might be helpful to see. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you!

Alyssa, thanks for helping. Figured I'd respond to your questions prior to trying any validation. And just to note, this situation started just in the past month or two.

I do have my files backed up to OneDrive, but my qdata file is also stored on my laptop. I took a snip of the file, appears to be using the OneDrive version.

I have not tried deleting the reminder and re-doing it. I can try that. I did confirm that if I put in a value, once I close and then restart Quicken then it reverts to 0.00 again. Weird that it's only just with this account.

I just deleted that bill reminder and recreated it. Updated the amount and saved, then shut down and restarted Quicken (it syncs on every close and does OSU on every open). This time upon opening my CapOne bill reminder did NOT revert to 0.00 so maybe deleting it and recreating it worked! If I notice the issue again tomorrow (or next time I go into Quicken) I'll try the Validate and Repair option you suggested. Will keep you posted! Thanks for your suggestions!

Just checked again this morning, and that bill reminder is still holding its value. So it looks like deleting the reminder and recreating it has worked :-) … thanks so much for that suggestion!
