I'm on Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2, Build 19045.6456 Planning to revive my Quicken usage
My quicken license expired in 2022. I plan to uninstall the software and delete any existing transactions. I have no need for any existing Quicken data. Then I plan to install a new current version of quicken and import only new credit transactions from January 2025 to present. Is that likely to present a problem?

Hello @Leonardo761,
Thanks for the details. Once your subscription is active again, you won’t need to uninstall your current Quicken software. The software itself is already on your system, so after renewing, you will likely just need to sign out/and back in using your Quicken ID and password, then install the latest update, which can be done from within the Quicken program.
To sign out/in, please follow the instructions provided below:
- Navigate to Edit
- Preferences...
- Quicken ID & Cloud accounts
- Click Sign in as a different user (or it might say Sign in using a different Quicken ID)
- Follow the prompts to Sign Out
- Sign back in using your Quicken ID (email) and password
Once you’re signed back in with an active subscription, you’ll be fully enabled again.
After that, please navigate to Help > Check for Updates to install the latest update version:
Also, if you'd like to start fresh (with no old data), you can create a new data file. Please refer to the instructions found in this support article.
This avoids unnecessary reinstall steps and gets you up and running more quickly.
Hope this helps!

To add to what Anja said, I want to mention that's it's very unlikely that you'll be able to import transactions going all the way back to January. It depends on the financial institution, but most don't provide imports going back more than 90 days. In some cases, you may be able export a Quicken data file from the bank's website going back further, but it depends on the bank.
