Missing paper clip icon after adding attachments

This problem has been reported several times over the past few years. No solution has been implemented by Quicken and all previous discussions have been closed by Quicken Support without any indication if Quicken intends to correct the problem. I have tried all suggested workarounds (turn off AV protection, validate and super validate the data file, press Enter instead of Done) with no success. The only (unacceptable) workaround is to delete the attachment and try again. This seems to work every time but is excessively time consuming and should not be necessary. However, it may be a clue to developers as to the cause of the problem.

Please advise the Quicken Classic user community if the 'missing paper clip' issue has been confirmed and accepted by Quicken Support and the status of work to correct it.

Others having the same problem please add your comments to this Discussion. Let's do everything we can to bring the severity of this problem to Quicken Support's attention.

Thank you.

    Hello @batguano,

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I am unable to recreate this issue of the paperclip disappearing after adding an attachment. Can you please provide more information?

    • What steps do you take to make the paperclip disappear?
    • How long have you been experiencing this issue?
    • Where is your data file located?
    • Is your file being backed up/synced by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Carbonite?
    • Are you using the Quicken Mobile & Web apps?
    • When you do the validation, does it mention fixing things in the report that populates after it has finished?

    Looking forward to your response.
