RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) Connection not Supported
After 3 sessions and a total of 2 hours with support I was told Quicken does not have an automated connection with RBC in Canada. This means you can only use the manual file upload/download process. I have not seen this information anywhere and support didn't know either. This is the biggest consumer bank in Canada. Subscription cancelled

The information in this post is categorically INcorrect. RBC Royal Bank of Canada DOES support Express Web Connect. I don't recommend using Express Web Connect with RBC, but it is (sort of) supported. I say "sort of" because there are issues with how the Multi Factor Authentication is implemented with RBC and Quicken. In my view, it's a hot mess; hence, I've reverted to using (highly inconvenient) Web Connect.
I absolutely could re-enable Express Web Connect with RBC right now… if I thought that was a good idea and I was willing to cope with the MFA mess.
The real story here is that there is NO automated download method for ANY Canadian bank that is secure, easy to use, and reliable. What we need is for EWC+ to come to Canada and this will be enabled by the Open Banking legislation that is with Parliament. The big banks are preparring for it.
The screen shot below highlights major Canadian banks for which there is Express Web Connect support - taken right from within Quicken Canada. EWC has been supported by RBC for at least 20 years continuously!

Hello All,
Thanks for providing the corrected information, and the added clarification @Arctic Hare —this is helpful context for anyone running into similar issues, especially regarding the current limitations of MFA and the state of Express Web Connect support in Canada.
@DamianVan66, I was able to locate your recent interaction with Support on our end, and we’ll be reviewing it internally.
Thank you!

I have been using the connection to RBC Wealth Management with only occasional glitches for 3 years. However, my last successful connect was on 10/9/2025. I have toggled the Quicken Service provider switch several times and tried many other different workarounds and nothing works. What is the status of this issue?
