Real time quotes not updating - only gold updates, not Stocks, Mutual Funds, etc..

For years, I updated quotes, but in the last 2-3 weeks, no quotes have been coming through with any consistency. On one rare day, I was able to get them.

I have tried late at night to update the quotes, and somehow they are updated! Tried this again, but no quotes - only a quote for gold.

I have real-time quotes enabled.

    Thank you for sharing your detailed experience.

    When you say you have real-time quotes enabled, I am assuming you have checked your preferences to ensure that option is checked off. I would also suggest making sure you have "Automatically update quotes every 15 minutes" checked off as well.

    I have some other questions for you as well.

    • Are the affected quotes all for securities held with one specific financial institution, or is it more than one?
    • What financial institution(s) are affected?
    • Was there any significant change around the same time that these quotes stopped updating regularly?
    • Where is your file located?
    • Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like Carbonite, OneDrive, or iCloud?

    I would using the UPDATE button in the INVESTING page. I never used the 15 min update. I did put that option on - but no change.

    • Are the affected quotes all for securities held with one specific financial institution, or is it more than one?
    • ALL ARE AFFECTED - BUT GOLD IS ONLY ONE PRICED.
    • What financial institution(s) are affected?
    • ALL - VANGUARD, SCHWAB, FIDELITY,
    • Was there any significant change around the same time that these quotes stopped updating regularly?
    • NOT THAT I RECALL
    • Where is your file located?
    • ON SSD ON PC - LOCAL
    • Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like Carbonite, OneDrive, or iCloud?
    • NO.

    when doing a 1 step update - i get notice the quotes were updated (see attached)

    - but on the INVESTING tab, no gain-loss is shown - only gold

    There is an issue in the Portfolio views where sometimes the Day Gain/Loss, Price day change, and Price Day change (%) show as zero but the quotes have actually been updated.

    If you update quotes while the market is open or in the evening, is there a little clock icon next to the affected securities? That would indicate that no price has been recorded for the selected date. If you hover over the icon, it should show the most recent earlier date when Quicken has a price for that security. What do you see?

    If you set the As of date back by one day then back to the problem date, forcing Quicken to recalculate, are those values shown correctly?

    Note that mutual fund prices do not usually update until after about 7:30 pm Eastern time, sometimes later.

    Also I would advise turning off the Real time quotes option because it is buggy, but that is a topic for another discussion.

    Do the prices update correctly if you turn off the Real time quotes option?

    Well, for some strange reason all is working now. Here are my settings for the investing preferences:

    auto 15 min - ON

    real time - OFF
