Transfers between accounts identified as Uncategorized

A recent software update (within last 3 months) has introduced a new error that claims that [account] transfers are uncategorized on the homepage Main View "See where your money goes". If you click on it, no transactions show up, but the account that it relates to does show in the transactions detail drill-down report.

Is this a known issue or something I can fix somehow?

    Helllo @Frank_Jen,

    Thank you for sharing your experience.

    To clarify, are you saying that the transfer transactions have not actually become uncategorized in the register, they only appear this way on the Home page under Main View? Is this correct?

    If so, I have some things we can check.

    • Where is your file located?
    • Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Carbonite?

    Additionally, screenshots of what you are seeing would be helpful. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you!

    The transactions are not actually uncategorized, they are showing as a "[xxxx]" transfers in both accounts involved.

    My file is synced with icloud.

    @Frank_Jen,

    Thank you for providing more information.

    First, I want to suggest excluding your file from the iCloud sync. Allowing third-party apps/services to access your active data file can cause damage to the file. Also, if our file is not stored locally, I would recommend moving it.

    The default file path is C:>Users>username>Documents>Quicken, and that is where we recommend keeping it.

    Are the [transfer] categories used, accounts that are in Quicken? If you could provide a screenshot, it would be really helpful. I have been unable to recreate this in my own Quicken software.

    Otherwise, I would suggest contacting Quicken Support directly, so they can screenshare with you and identify the issue in real-time.

    Thanks again.
