Data File Opening Slowly

The past few days, my data file has taken a minute or more to open. I validated the file, checked for errors, disk cleanup, and still no change.

I called Quicken, and they told me OneDrive is the issue. They had me turn off OneDrive, and now the data file opens immediately.

    Hello @Gary R,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

It is true, syncing your active data file to a cloud service like OneDrive can cause the file to behave in strange ways, and can even cause it to become damaged. While it is ok to have your backup files synced, we do not recommend it with the active data file.

I'm happy to hear that our support team was able to help you identify this issue and get it resolved. I am sure others experiencing the same or a similar issue will find this information useful.

    Thanks again!

I don't use OneDrive or any sync on my data file. Yet I find that in R65.17, my data file opens much slower than before. I open to my checking account register, and the triple screen paint takes much longer before I can use QWin.

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, as of 2025 using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro & Win11 Pro on 2 PCs.
