New loan reminder is coming up as old paycheck reminder

I added a new loan account and created the bill reminder. When I attempt to enter the loan reminder a reminder for a fairly old paycheck reminder comes up. I have attempted to delete and readd multiple times and it is the same issue. How do I get this resolved?

I did the "Report a Problem" through Quicken but I am hoping for a quicker solution. This new bill and payment reminder section is quickly becoming a disaster. Non of my online bills update and now my payment reminders are not even remotely correct (bill vs paycheck).

    Hello @AZMike2021,

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To troubleshoot this issue, please provide more information. Do you keep your Quicken file directly on your local hard drive? Is the file synced with any cloud service, such as OneDrive, iCloud, or Dropbox? Was there anything that happened just before this issue started, such as a computer/program update or unexpected computer/program shutdown?

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend that you start by restoring a backup from before the problem started, then test to see if the issue is resolved in the newly restored file.

I look forward to your response!

    Hi Kristina

I store my copy of Quicken on my PC hard drive and it is not synced with a cloud service (OneDrive or Quicken web). This is a brand new loan. I even tried deleting the payment reminder and adding it again. Same issue.

When I set it up I attempted to sync it to American Express, but it caused issues with the Amex CC. I deleted the online sync for both and re-added just the Amex CC.

I just deleted the loan entirely, setup a new offline account, same issue; the payment reminder is pulling through an old paycheck reminder.

    Thank you for your replies,

I'm not able to replicate the issue you describe. Is this happening on the Bills & Income tab, when you click Enter next to that reminder? If not, please provide more detail exactly what is happening prior to the incorrect reminder coming up.

To start troubleshooting for a file-specific problem, I suggest that you try validating your data file.  Please save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File... Validate and repair.png
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

Please let me know how it goes!

Did the validation you mention in your steps above, did not fix the issue. This is actually the second time I have done the file validation in hopes to try and resolve it. If you look through some of the historical questions I am not the first one to experience this with Amex loans. There is no resolution on those either.

    Thank you for your reply,

Since the Validate didn't correct the issue, please try restoring a backup from before the issue started (if possible) and test to see if the issue is resolved in the newly restored file.

    Thank you!

If validate & super-validate do not resolve the issue, restore from backup may help but you could try a Copy with template option first. It is usually a much quicker process than hunting for a backup that works.

I also tried to duplicate the issue in a test file and could not. That points to a corruption issue with your file.

The Copy Template will create a record-by-record copy of your file and the accounts in the copy file will be disconnected from online services. The copy process skips over deleted records and can skip over minor corruption. It might provide a clean copy of your data.

Before connecting the accounts to online services, check to see if it has the same problems with the loan reminder. If it works as expected, you can connect your accounts and begin using the copy.
