Ghost Pending Transactions - Chase
I have two Chase credit card accounts. After one step updating today, one of the accounts shows a Pending Payments Transaction that I didn't make. I logged onto the Chase account online and confirmed that the pending charge does not exist. This has occurred on another account (can't remember which one but it was a credit card account) before but I just disregarded it and let it remain under the pending transactions. It eventually disappeared on its own; I assume during a one step update.
I am using the latest version of Quicken.

Hello @crwalejr,
Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To help narrow down if this issue is caused by data being sent to Quicken, or if it's being caused by a file-specific problem, we would need to review the log files. Please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached. Please include a sample ghost transaction (date, payee, and amount).
Once the problem report is sent, please post to this discussion to let me know.
I look forward to your response!

Many times, merchants will send a transaction to your account just to verify that the account exists and is valid. Some are $1 transactions; others can be duplicate transactions. Pending transactions are useful information, but I suggest that you don't get alarmed until an unexpected transaction actually gets posted to your register.

Kristina I sent the log files as instructed. The ghost Pending Transaction is for Account named Chase Amazon-xxxx [Edit - Removed Personal Information] and the ghost pending transaction is dated 12/22/2025 with Payee "Chase Amazon" and a Payment listed -372.11.

RalphC this is not a transaction as you describe. I fully understand how the Pending Transactions function and am not worried about it being posted to my register since it was never created by Chase in the first place. What I am wondering is how it is being created in the first place and why it is appearing a pending transaction.
