Why 'int earned' trans not downloaded to bank register
My issue is this. First off, all trans for bank account, CC accounts, brokerage account, investment accounts, etc are working fine with trans downloads. However, with ONE exception. This involves my bank account. Again, all trans are functioning properly with the exception of 'int earned' for the month does not come into the bank account with my download. The trans is in the online account which I then manually add the trans to record the 'int earned'. I'm out of things to check for so I'm reaching out for advice. I'm running Quicken Classic Premium Windows, latest updates applied.

Is this an issue that first occurred this weekend? If so, the interest earned might not yet have posted at the bank. The transaction should then download on 2/1-2/3…most likely on 2/2 (depending on the bank's protocols for downloading transactions). On weekend many banks download only transactions that posted by Friday night, even if they show as being posted in the bank account on Saturday. Most banks will download transactions that post after Friday night on the following Monday or perhaps not until Tuesday morning.

Boatnmaniac - this not the first time and I completely understand the posting process you described. This has been occuring for months and I have yet to figure out why. I get by it by manually posting the j/e and move on with the reconcile of the account. Thank you for your input and welcome any other suggestions you might offer. Cheers

This is a checking account which again, involves only the 'INT earned' trans. All other trans into the checking post accordingly. All other accounts savings, investments, taxable brokerage does not have any issue with trans downloads.

When downloading transactions, do you automatically accept downloaded transactions into your register?
If you answer Yes to this question, please turn off auto-accept. This way you can see if the interest transaction is being downloaded at all and what old transaction Quicken is trying to (incorrectly) match the transaction to.
Where are the "Auto-accept downloaded transaction" settings?
There are two places where this is controlled in Quicken for Windows:- Globally, for all accounts, in Edit / Preferences / Downloaded Transactions
- For each account individually, the global setting can be overridden from the Edit Account Details screen, Online Services Tab. Look for blue text "Automatic Entry is: ON / OFF". Click the text to change the setting.

I do not 'auto-accept' and the settings have been checked numerous times. It is only on the checking account. When I reconcile the account that's when it shows up that I'm out the 'Int Earned' amount. So I add it manually. I'm continuing to look for resolution and appreciate your comments/suggestions.

Next time, when an interest transaction is/was supposed to download and has gone missing, please do contact Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation and report this as an Online Banking issue. Let them do a screen share session with you to review the situation on your computer, to determine the nature of the problem and to figure out how to fix it.
Support may ask that you send them the download log files for review and possible escalation to higher support levels.0 -
Is it a bank or a credit Union? My Credit Union doesn’t post the interest until the first of the next month. Earned doesn’t mean Posted. So my 1099 is only Jan 01 to Dec 01, not 12/31.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

I'm talking about 'bank'. I know when interest transactions are posted after working 24 years in a bank. So when the EOM rolls around the the interest trans will post to my account. I know this because I see it when I access my account via online. However, it is not downloaded into Quicken for some odd reason. So, to balance my account I enter the trans manually and perform my monthly reconcile. My aim is to figure this out myself with the help of community support. It's not a game changer and I will use Quicken support once I feel I have exhausted all avenues to resolve on my end. I appreciate and welcome your suggestions. Thank you.
