Old Intuit Version 8 Question
OK, I know this won't be popular here, but I am still using the old, Intuit version of Quicken (version 8 - it works for what I need) and I hope someone here can assist me. I got a new computer and, while the application does work on Windows 11, I obviously cannot get a registration for it as that registration site no longer exists. Does anybody know where the registration information is stored so I can copy it from my old PC (Win 10) to my new PC (Win 11). Thanks in advance. - John

I'm not sure what registration information was required for Quicken 8 because that was before when I started using Quicken (for me that was Quicken 10). But if that registration information requires an interaction with Intuit then you are out of luck because, as you noted, the Intuit servers were deactivated many years ago after Intuit spun off Quicken as a separate company (back in 2016).
However, you might want to take a look at this Support Article: . In this support article you can download and install a free copy of Quicken 10 Deluxe (only Deluxe is available). It does not require any activation and it will be able to read your Quicken 8 data file. I hope this helps you.
EDIT: I should have also mentioned that after you upgrade to Quicken 10 that Support Article also provides a link for downloading a free copy of Quicken 2013 Deluxe. This version is very stable and might be your best bet if you do not want to upgrade to Subscription at this time.

I'm not sure if this applies to your old Quicken version, but I found this in my notes:
Bypass registration (Quicken for Windows 2014 and older)
If you get stuck on a Registration window, you can try the following to bypass registration:
- Start or restart Quicken.
- Do not start a One Step Update or any other download activity.
- US version: Press and hold and keep holding both the left CTRL and Shift keys while you click Tools and then One Step Update.
- Canadian version: Press and hold and keep holding both the left CTRL and Shift keys while you click Online and then One Step Update.
- When the message “You will no longer be prompted for registration” appears, click OK.0 -
If the problem is the message (which can be bypassed by just closing the dialog, but just a pain) use the steps that @UKR suggested.
If this problem is that requiring registration just to install, there might not be anything you can do. Some people installed from CDs that required registration.
For other kinds of registration problems after the install, you might try copying the C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Config folder from the old machine to the new machine. The Quicken.ini file in that folder contains the license information.
