Indian currency format

I use INR as the base currency for my Quicken. It shows balance in US format of 1,000,000. I wish this to be displayed in Indian format of lakhs, crores - 1,00,000 and so on. I did not find a way to make this change.

This could be an enhancement request. Please advise.

Q takes its directions in this from Windows. See how your currency is set in Windows.

On Windows changed setting to India and currency format is shown as Indian format 1,00,000. Rebooted the Laptop and restarted Quicken. Q still shows currency in US format - 1,000,000.

I do not see any configuration setting in Q to make this change.

I don't see any difference in the formats you are showing.

Are you looking for this format? 1.000.000,00?

Quicken Windows doesn't take the numeric format from Windows it takes it from "C:\ProgramData\Quicken\config\QUICKEN.INI"

With Quicken not running edit this file with Notepad and change the sDecimal and sThousand values to swap their values.

Note that the currency sign is taken from the currency setting in Quicken. It is only the Windows short date format that is used in Quicken.

@Chris_QPW I missed the difference at first also. Going left to right, the OP is showing 2 zeroes in the first grouping and 3 zeroes in the second.

OK I see that now. Thanks. This format isn't possible in Quicken.

Look at Lakh - Wikipedia for an explanation of the odd-looking Indian numbering system of 1,00,000 … no, this is not a typo!

Before this discussion was posted in the Community I had never heard of such an unusual numbering system.

Quicken, having been developed primarily for the US and Canadian markets, at this time is unable to display amounts in formats other than a decimal numbering system. Transaction amounts are limited to +/- 99,999,999.99 (IOW, 99 million dollars with two decimal places for cents). Account balances and report totals may go a little higher than that.

If you want this numbering system supported, someone may want to post an Idea - type discussion here in the Community.
